Shipito: E-commerce Package Forwarding Service
Shipito is a logistics company that simplifies international shopping by allowing you to shop from major U.S. retailers like Macy's, Gap, Nordstrom, Amazon, Coach, and Walmart, and have your purchases shipped to Shipito’s warehouse. Since many retailers don't ship internationally, Shipito forwards packages and provides reliable logistics services to ensure your purchases reach you. I redesigned the company website to enhance user-friendliness and updated the design to align with current trends.
It's a mobile-first approach to a responsive web redesign with support for 13 languages.
Before starting the website revamp and redesign, I began with user research, competitor analysis, gathering input from the marketing team, and collecting customer feedback. Using these insights, I led the design of Shipito’s website and mobile site for launch.
I collaborated closely with the marketing manager, marketing specialists, and developers throughout the process. Additionally, I was responsible for creating wireframes, prototypes, design specs, and conducting testing across the entire development lifecycle.
I’ve previously worked with Adobe XD and the Adobe Creative Suite, but recently, I’ve transitioned to using Figma. I still occasionally use other tools, depending on the file formats shared by other designers. I also have experience creating Figma prototypes, and I’ve included a design example here.
DESIGN CHALLENGES
Shipito sought to revamp its official website after several years, aiming for an attractive, user-friendly design for both web and mobile. As part of this desktop and mobile website redesign, I led the creation of the new homepage, conducted competitive research, added a section featuring popular U.S. brands and added "Approximate Shipping Cost" to the design. I also added a section for estimated shipping costs to provide users with key information.
ANIMATED PROTOTYPE
This is an animated prototype created in InVision to showcase the mobile version's home page.
ADDED FEATURES: Added "Popular US brands"
Key features like "Popular US Brands" contributed to improved user engagement and increased signups.
By adding logos of popular U.S. brands to the webpage, we encouraged users to shop more and explore well-known brands, ultimately helping to drive revenue.
When clicking or tapping on the brand tile, it will open each store in a new tab, offering a seamless browsing experience.
ADDED FEATURES: Added "Approximate Shipping Cost"
After conducting extensive user research and analyzing similar websites, I added the “Approximate Shipping Cost” feature. This allows users—especially those without an account—to quickly estimate shipping fees based on distance, destination, and package weight.
By providing this transparency, users can make informed decisions, which encourages signups and helps drive conversions.
WEB AND MOBILE DESIGN
The full-page design is shown here, and the mobile version can be customized in certain sections to adjust for different screen sizes. Keeping the homepage updated is important as it shows users that the site is actively maintained and live. Below is the previous version of the banner.
MULTILINGUAL WEB AND MOBILE SITE
It's a mobile-first approach to web and mobile redesign. The layout adjusts well for all languages, though Spanish, French, and Portuguese generally require more text space. Additionally, Arabic is a right-to-left language, which requires further adjustments.
